To get to this beautiful cenote, you will travel a 1.5 kilometer Sacbe, choosing one of the 3 options: in a fun BiciTaxi, riding a bike, or walking for 15 minutes

Day 2: Day 2: Ek Balam - San Felipe - Rio Lagartos

After breakfast, we will move to San Felipe, a small fishing village with charming typical painted wooden houses of multiple colors, which in the pre-Hispanic era, was the mythical place for commercial exchanges among the Mayans. From the tourist hostel, we will take our boat and visit the Kambulnah water eye, which we will descend by a wonderful wooden bridge of 320 meters, on which we will walk through nature seeing its four different types of mangroves (gray mangrove, black, white and red). When we arrive at the typical restaurant "economic kitchen", the owner will tell us about the history of the dishes, we will prepare a typical regional dish that, of course, we will enjoy at your table. With our stomach happy and after a coffee, we will go to the Magic Town of Izamal. This charming colonial city is famous for its yellow facades, which decorate its monuments, houses and streets. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, we can join a walking tour, where light and sound projections are made with video mapping in the historical and emblematic places of the city, especially the convent! Dinner in a typical restaurant, to try different dishes of the region! (dinner not included)

Markets available in Mérida (in case of choosing a different cooking workshop): Santa Ana; Cleaner but little variety, Municipal Market: more variety. Restaurants available in Izamal: the first recommended in many places is the famous Kinich restaurant, the second option is the Mestizos Restaurant and the last Zamna Restaurant. The name of the ancient city, in the Yucatec Mayan language, literally translates into Spanish as "dark or black jaguar" (Barrera V. 1980: 1950) although the people of the Ek'Balam region who speak Mayan also interpret it as " Lucero-Jaguar. When the Spanish arrived in the Yucatan Peninsula in 1517, Chichén Itzá was already abandoned, which means that while Europe lived in the Middle Ages, Chichen Itza had already created an even more precise calendar than the Gregorian one, its knowledge of Astronomy was much more advanced and they handled the concept of the number zero. Chichén Itzá differed from other Mayan cities by introducing the cult to the god Kukulcán, the feathered serpent.

Day 2: Ek Balam - Chichen Itza - Merida

Day 3: Uxmal - Merida

The third day will be dedicated to the visit of an archaeological site, imposing and fascinating of the Puuc Route: Uxmal, its beauty is characterized by its low palaces and horizontals rich in decoration and sculptures, in the afternoon return to Merida and tour the "White City". Day 4: Coba - Riviera Maya

Day 1: Arrival

Day 2: Merida - Celestun

Today we will enjoy the wonderful Ría Celestun Biosphere Reserve, 90 km from Mérida, which thanks to its 600 km2 of extension, occupies Yucatan and Campeche. It is known for being the winter refuge of thousands of pink flamingos and other species and has a unique ecosystem! Since it combines the fresh water of the Ría Celestún with the salt water of the Gulf of Mexico. We will sail in our boat through natural mangrove tunnels and enjoy the natural spectacle of these incredible birds. The place also enjoys extensive beaches that are plagued with coconut trees. Day 3: Merida – Hacienda Henequenera – Cenote – Uxmal

Today we will know the whole transformation process of Henequen (also called Green Gold in this region), from the plant to the fiber, and from the fiber to the finished product. We will also have the opportunity to see the old machinery that has been rescued from the ravages of time and rebuilt to its precise operative capacity. Our tour will also include a visit to a typical Mayan house where we will meet a lovely Mayan grandfather who barely speaks Spanish and will show us typical Mayan elements. At the end we can enjoy a refreshing dip, where you can swim safely in the refreshing waters of the hacienda's Cenote. We will eat at the Hacienda restaurant to taste the delicious Mayan cuisine. After lunch, we will leave for Uxmal and we will settle in our hotel.

Day 4: Uxmal - Mun-Ha - Valladolid

We will leave early to arrive with a cool climate to this magnificent archaeological zone. Known as "The Three Times Built", its architecture is one of the most impressive in Yucatan. A guide will give us an interesting explanation about what happened in this place in pre-Hispanic times. Later, we will visit the Mun-Ha rural tourism initiative, where we will taste its delicious regional food. We will move to the viewpoint of Muná (approximately 10 minutes by car), where we will learn about the honeybees (Mayan bee) and their importance, and we will make a tour of the ecological path and its relationship with the Mayan mythology, and finally we will participate in a rain stick workshop, we will take home our work of art.
